The first cold front of 2019 descended on the area just in time for the final Wappapello Division Anglers’ Choice event. Following the front of course was blue bird skies, high pressure and chilly temperatures. The daytime high would just barely reach the lower 60s by the afternoon weigh-in.

The bite seemed to be much hotter than the air temps as several good sacks of fish were weighed in, which isn’t typical for a mid-October tournament on Wappapello.

Topping the field at the end of the day was the team of Allison and Mosier. Justin Mosier fished by himself in this one and proved to be up to the task. His five fish limit tipped the scales at 17.55 Pounds.
“I stayed around Chaonia Landing all day and caught most of them on buzzbaits,” Mosier said. “My boat was sitting in deep water but I was catching them shallow.” Mosier took home $1500 plus trophies for first place

Taking second place honors was the familiar team of Ron Carnahan and Don Hampton.
“We fished main lake rock banks down the lake toward the dam with soft plastics.” Said Hampton “We caught the smaller fish shallow and the bigger fish were in ten feet of water,” he added. “We caught seven keepers all day.” They took home $1170 plus trophies for second place plus an additional $270 plus trophies for the big bass of the event. It weighed 5.88 pounds.

Father and son Paul and Kason Henderson took third place with a five fish limit weighing 14.29 pounds.
“We went down the lake toward the dam,” said Paul Henderson. “We caught most of them early and fished slow in shallow water.” The third-place team took home $495 plus trophies.

Jamie Toon and Brian House were awarded fourth place honors by virtue of their 13.86-pound limit of fish that was good for $270

2019 points champions James Goodpasture and Scott Fischer finished their season with yet one more top five finish with a limit that weighed 13.71 pounds and was good for two fish dinners from Don’s Restaurant.
